A native of Nice, France, Alex has spent his entire career as a professional cellist but has been fascinated with properties as long as he can remember. It is the Provencale region’s rich architectural heritage, from medieval bastides, art deco landmarks and baroque style palaces and churches that sparked Alex’s initial interest in archictecture and property. Shortly after completing his musical studies in Paris at the Conservatoire National Superior, Alex moved to Boston to further his education. Fortuitously, upon his arrival the first person to greet him at the airport was Saul Cohen, co-founder and former President of Hammond Residential. Saul sponsored many years of Alex’s musical studies in the United States, and a lifelong friendship was born. Alex credits Saul for nurturing and developing his initial interest in the real estate profession.
In 2008 Alex won a position in the prestigious Boston Symphony Orchestra, a post he remains dedicated to to this day, as holder of the Nancy and Richard Lubin Chair. As a cellist, Alex has extensively performed and recorded as a member of the Boston Cello Quartet and Arabella String Quartet. A current project includes recording the complete string quartets of Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint Georges, the first known classical composer of African ancestry, for Naxos Records.
Alex has lived in the Newton/Brookline for over two decades. He and his Australian wife currently reside in Brookline and are raising three young children in the Pierce School district.
In addition to his knowledge of the Brookline and Newton areas, Alex will bring a commitment to excellence and the highest possible standard of care for his clients. From his lifelong training as a professional musician, Alex understands the value of meticulousness, excellent communication, and collaboration. He can empathize with customers who are experiencing major relocations and advise regarding the challenges and complexities of home purchase and sale, having personally been through the process several times in the past decade.
Alex could not be happier to join Hammond as a sales associate and looks forward to talking with you about taking the next steps in your home buying or selling journey.
